What support is provided? Eg. Mentoring, orientation, seminars, social activities etc.

Moving to a foreign country can be daunting. At HIBT, we recognize this and are able to offer our students a fully dedicated team of student support officers who are here to provide a number of services to cater to the needs of international students. The student service officers are available in the office all day long to help the students and have now introduced a 24-hour emergency help line, so our students or their families are always able to contact us in an emergency situation, outside office hours. A comprehensive orientation programme is organised at the start of every semester. The orientation programme includes an airport pick up service and several excursions during the first few weeks.

What happens if a student fails a subject at Diploma level?

It depends to what extent the student fails. If they are unsuccessful in one or two modules, they will have the opportunity to re-take these modules at HIBT before progressing on to the University. Some students who do not pass their subjects after several repeats may not be admitted to the University of Hertfordshire and will be counselled as to their options and best way forward. For most, opportunities are available for students to remain at HIBT for further study in order to improve their performance before entering University. All students must be aware that they will be required to attend lectures and take their studies seriously. As long as a student has followed our rules and regulations, we will endeavour to assist as far as possible.
