How to Apply Qualifications and entry requirements General Entry to the Undergraduate Pathway Programme at HIBT requires successful completion of a minimum of school year 11 or GCSE equivalent qualifications. Students who have successfully completed Year 12 or 'A' level equivalent qualifications are eligible for entry to the Diploma Undergraduate Pathway Programme. Specific academic entry requirements are listed below. Not all qualifications are listed and students with other qualifications should send details for assessment.Mature Age Entry Mature age students (21 years and over) may be admitted to a course without meeting the formal academic requirements if they have relevant work experience and/or other acceptable qualifications.English Language The medium of instruction at HIBT is English, and International students from non-English speaking countries must be able to demonstrate English language proficiency of at least IELTS level 4.0 before being admitted to a course. Students entering HIBT with higher levels of English language proficiency will be exempted from English language classes where appropriate. All students will complete the academic component of their course, one and/or two semesters at Certificate level, and two semesters at Diploma level, as well as Professional Communications modules which are part of the academic curriculum. The table below show IELTS level requirements and duration of study by subject at each stage.
HIBT also recognises TOEFL, GCSE, HKCEE, and SPM English language results as proof of English language proficiency. Please see IELTS equivalent grades/ scores below:
