Visa Information

Students from Bangladesh must obtain a visa before making travel arrangements to travel in the UK. To make an application for a visa you must include:

  • A confirmed offer of place issued by HIBT
  • Proof of accommodation in UK which could be in the form of an accommodation letter, confirming your place in the halls of residence, or a letter from a sponsor if you are opting to live with a relative or family friends.
  • Evidence of financial support for both fees and living expenses, such as a chartered accountant's statement, banker's letter, proof of tax returns/assets etc., or a sponsor's letter from abroad with his/her banker's confirmation of funds
  • A letter from a known person who can vouch for your background and status

Employment whilst studying

Due to the intensive nature of British courses, there is often little time for work whilst studying. However, students are able to obtain part-time employment for a maximum of 20 hours per week. Students are also entitled to work full-time during the holidays. International Students at UK institutions who are not nationals of a European Economic Area (EEA) country are no longer required to obtain permission from the Job Centre to take spare time and vacation work. Most students can earn about £2000 or more per annum in London.
