1) Study on a University Campus

At HIBT, our students can bridge the gap between their secondary education and UK university studies, with the benefit of being able to settle in to the University environment at the same time. HIBT students have the same access to the University of Hertfordshire study and social facilities as any other university student.

2) Complete your degree faster through accelerated degree programmes

Students with the equivalent of GCSE level qualifications (e.g. SPM, Senior middle 2, O'level, SSC, Year 11) with good grades can complete their Honours Degree programme in only 3-years (June or October start). Students with A' Level qualifications (e.g. STPM, Senior Middle 3, HSC, and Year 12) can complete their honours degree in just over 2 years (February start) All students' entry qualifications will be considered individually.

3) Commence your studies in February, June or October

We offer 3-intakes per year for many of our courses, and offer English Language programmes at each of these intakes. This allows us to tailor make programmes according to individual students' academic background and English Language levels.

4) Small group teaching and individual attention from dedicated university lecturers

We are the perfect option for international students wishing to bridge the gap between international studies and UK university study. Many international students find the transition to university studies quite difficult to deal with, particularly as international students studying at university level in the UK are normally expected to go straight into classrooms with the local students. Many international students find this very overwhelming to begin with. At HIBT all of our students come from international backgrounds and we ensure that all of our class sizes are small (maximum 40 students) so that our students get the opportunity to build up confidence with the study methods and to ensure that they all receive as much attention as possible when settling in to the UK study environment.

Many international students worry that they may not be able to understand their lecturers when they first start at University. They also sometimes worry that the lecturer might not understand them. All students at HIBT are international students. We therefore select academic staff who have experience in dealing with international students and who are culturally sensitive.

5) Guaranteed entry to the University of Hertfordshire

Unlike many other foundation and diploma providing institutions, we can offer students direct entry into the University of Hertfordshire after successful completion of their HIBT programme. The HIBT programme is specially designed so that students cover all necessary subjects to progress smoothly on to their chosen degree programme at the University of Hertfordshire.
