The University of Hertfordshire (UH) is a lively modern institution offering challenging and satisfying courses with a reputation for academic excellence based on an impressive record of achievement in teaching and research. The University of Hertfordshire is consistently one of the highest placed modern universities in the UK and has recently been ranked 16th for engineering (The Times, 2004), and within the top 20 for business and top 10 for tourism (The Guardian, 2004). The University's School of Law is located in the historic Roman city of St. Albans about five miles from the main Hatfield campuses. Graduates from HIBT's Undergraduate Pathway in Law and the Postgraduate Pathway in Law will study for their degree here. The campus has a specialist Law library and its very own courtroom. The recently completed £120 million de Havilland campus, also in Hatfield, houses the Business SchoolHertfordshire Sports Village. Here students benefit from an ultra modern gym, swimming pool, sports hall, all weather pitches and a climbing wall. and the Social Sciences faculty. It also provides further modern accommodation for students, state of the art lecture theatres and learning facilities as well as a brand new sports and leisure complex, the Other facilities provided by the university which are open to HIBT students include: The Students' Union - this newly refurbished facility on the College Lane Campus provides students with a place to relax and unwind and socialise with friends. There is also a cafeteria, a well stocked shop and a venue which is frequently used for concerts and other live acts. There are also a wide variety of clubs and societies which students can join. From sports and martial arts clubs, to religious and political groups, there is something for everyone at UH. Other facilities include a refectory, an insurance office, video and DVD rental, a travel agent and an employment agency. |
